Dead Girl Derby is a skater-owned and -operated organization formed in 2010 operating an amateur roller derby league. The Dead Girls are dynamic, motivated and hard-working skaters who train hard, strive to spread their love of roller derby and aim be give back to the Kansas City community. Besides playing one bout per month from February through August, the Dead Girls have a full year-round calendar of events, and can be found around town volunteering for local charities and holding fundraisers.

Johnson County Sundogs Rugby Club is a Division II (D2 on the schedule) Rugby Club in the Heart of America Rugby Football Union. County Rugby has a colorful and successful past that began in the fall of 1975 in Johnson County.
